Wailapa Estate Kona Coffee
Established in the late 1920s, Kona's Wailapa Estate comprises approximately 12.5 acres of prime Kona Coffee growing land located at an altitude ranging from 1400 to 2000 feet. The name Wailapa means "water-ridge," and the farm is located in the area of the Kona Coffee belt that receives the highest amount of annual rainfall. Wailapa Estate averages a yearly crop of 850 pounds of Kona Coffee that is naturally cultivated and processed. No herbicides, pesticides or fungicides are used. The "cherries" are allowed to ripen on the tree and thus a natural maturing occurs without any interruption. After the cherries are picked, they are washed, sun dried and shipped to us for roasting.
